Enjoyable characters that I hope will grow and the plots will be less predictable next time around The writing, at times, is great.

Awesome book. Gripping though at the end you might start predicting the killer! But definitely nice. 9.8/10š„°

The first crime fiction that I got my hands on by JK Rowling has not been a disappointment. Being a huge fan of this genre, the way in which the author meticulously explained how the detective goes through each step while understanding the case was quite interesting. She has also given ample space for the character developement of Cormoran Strike and Robin throughout the book. As this is the first book in the series I believe we will find out how their relationship turns out in the upcoming books of the series. Overall I feel she has set a pretty solid ground to build upon for the series. The best part for me was that Strike doesn't come across as a guy who is extraordinary like Sherlock. He is just a guy who has his own set of problems and principles but knows to do his job well. He is more human than the other detectives that I have come across in such books
